Onboarding a new vendor or customer in freee requires staff to manually create the 取引先 record and correctly capture the partner's 登録番号 — the インボイス発行事業者 registration number required under Japan's 2023 インボイス制度. Overlooking this field means the company cannot claim 仕入税額控除 on bills from that partner, creating hidden JCT liability that only surfaces at tax time.
